Some people just have all the luck. According to Boing, Boing reader Mike Ryan, he was able to get his hands on the iPad WiFi + 3G, thanks to the friendly neighborhood mail delivery person. Yep, he pre-ordered it, and now he’s got one of his own. He even took pictures!

He took pictures for the obvious reason: proof. If you just hit up a website and start spouting off that you got a coveted piece of technology a day before everyone else, no one is going to believe you. So, he did the only respectable thing he could do: snap a few shots of the iPad 3G’s MicroSIM card slot. It’s a good shot, too.

Curious, though, is the fact that Apple didn’t manage to slip up on the original launch of the iPad Wifi version, so why now? Is it because all the hype has essentially died down, and the surprise itself is pretty much over? After all, you’re getting the same equipment, just with a new connectivity method. Who knows. Apparently there’s been a few more people who have gotten theirs, too, so this may be a widespread thing. If you’re anticipating your own model, start checking your doorstep!
