Facebook Video Now in HTML5 Format
One of the more frustrating things about going to Facebook’s site from your iPad is the fact that if one of your friends have posted a video, or you want to catch a movie trailer from a fan page, you just can’t. Up until now you got a message telling you that you need to upgrade to the latest version of Flash Player. Bad news all around, considering how unlikely that is to happen on your new tablet. But, sure enough, the folks behind the scenes at Facebook have managed to wrangle up the courage and transition all the videos to the HTML5 format.

So, what’s that mean? Well, you probably already know: you can now watch embedded videos, right from the site. No needing to download a third party application, or even wait for the Facebook application to get upgraded. It just works. And no, we don’t mean that only some of the videos are supported. Apparently all the videos have made the transition, so visiting the site in mobile Safari won’t slow you down any.
Good news for all the Facebook fans out there, especially those that use the social networking site to pass along videos. But, the big question still remains: are you more of a fan of the dedicated application, or would you rather visit the site via mobile Safari?

the only thing I am waiting on is fb chat, when I first got my iPad and went to the website, it was there but it scrolled up with with screen when you scrolled down. I read somewhere that facebook took it down from being shown on iPad's Safari browser because of that, but I never found out if or when they'd bring it back.
Also the only other thing that does not work (obviously) is the uploader for pictures and video. this would be a great reason to love a Facebook app on iPad more than anything else. Maybe even when you use the camera connection kit from Apple, you can open a menu much like on iPhone that can import those pictures straight to Facebook, THAT would be great.
