iPad Manufacturing Still on Schedule
Last week, we brought you a report that the iPad might be experiencing some unknown manufacturing hassles. These reports came from an analyst that had spoken to an unconfirmed source, and now we’re looking at pretty much the complete opposite, at least in terms of story. With the initial report from the analyst saying that the first shipment of iPads could reach low numbers of 300,000, and even delay the launch of the tablet by a month. Luckily though, that seems to be not the case at all.
Apple’s overseas manufacturer, Foxconn, is known for its slippery workers. Both in pictures and by word of mouth. Thankfully for these anonymous workers though, we get a lot of confusion cleared up in a timely matter. (Almost too timely, if you ask us.) Apparently a few of these workers have spoken up to DigiTimes, telling the online medium that manufacturing hasn’t slowed down at all, and in fact, they’re expecting Apple to launch anywhere between 600,000 to 700,000 by the end of March. That’s quite a stark difference.
Don’t get us wrong, we firmly believe that a manufacturing hiccup probably happened at one point or another, but we definitely didn’t expect Apple to sell so little of its products, or delay the release date. So, if these other rumors are true as well, then if you’re working at an Apple Store, you should expect to see your first iPad in person on March 10. And for the rest of us? March 26th. That’s not too far to wait, right?
