New Apple Job Listing Could Mean Video Recording on Future iPad Models
It’s probably not likely that you forgot about all those rumors regarding the iPad having a camera, but just in case you did, go “here” and “here” for a quick refresher. This time around, it seems that Apple is ready to hire someone that knows their cameras, for both still images and video recording, and they want to bring them onto the Apple team. Why? Well, it seems that future models of the iPad could be seeing a camera-based upgrade.
Obviously this isn’t a new topic at all. While a few of those rumors floating around the Internet were seeing words like “soon”, and “3G model” thrown around, we don’t see that as a realistic possibility. What we do see happening, though, is that somewhere later this year, Jobs and company could certainly introduce a new hardware model, with camera and all. Of course, they could be holding out on a camera for the 3G version, simply to promote video calling on AT&T’s 3G network. Or, on the other side of the coin, they could be willing to wait a year, before releasing another model of the iPad.
As the job posting goes, the Media Systems team is currently looking for a software quality engineer with a strong, technical background to test still, video and audio capture and playback frameworks. The listing goes on, detailing how Q&A is important and how you would grow your skills if you were to take the position. The camera issue is becoming somewhat of a non-issue, if you ask us. Why people can’t just accept the fact that it looks like the iPad doesn’t have a camera, and move on, we don’t know. Yes, an iSight camera would’ve been great, but it looks like it’s not happening this round of the iPad. Maybe iPad 2.0 will knock your socks off with the best camera ever invented. Who knows.
