There’s no doubt that scanning the gigantic sea that is the Internet is going to be fun on the iPad. It’s fun on the iPhone, and that’s only 3.5-inches, so obviously it’s going to be a blast on the whole 9.7-inch display we’re all going to have our hands on come this Saturday. But, that’s not going to stop people from exploring their development mettle, by creating applications that, for all intents and purposes, you could very well utilize for free, just by visiting the website. Case in point, the unofficial Flickr application that just got approved for iPad-friendly units.

Now, yes, we understand that developers need to make money, and we know that a lot of hard work goes into making an application. However, there’s just the simple fact that charging $2.99 for an app that, for all intents and purposes, we could simply navigate to a website and see the same images, doesn’t make much sense. Of course, they could have charged more, so we imagine that 3 bucks isn’t that big of a deal. After all, it does add some nifty functionality, along with a cool “iPad-specific” User Interface.

Now, the single best feature is the fact that you can link your contacts with Flickr images. Yes, that means you have to have that contact in your Flickr portfolio, but that’s probably not that big of a stretch. Sure, Facebook integration might be better for some (most?) people, but this is a good step in the right direction. Just to recap, the unofficial Flickr application is going to cost you a cool $2.99, and it will be available on day one (better known as April 3rd). Anyone going to pick this app up?

  1. No leed to restore. I was already downloading iTunes and the newest 4.2 software when I thought about entering safe mode. In sbs settings, go to power and then enter safe mode. After that everything went back to normal. I am in fact happily writing this message from the iPhone. copy dvd Oh JNGold, and a simple Google search for Android Hardware vs. Iphone hardware comes up with this isn the first hit.A nice snapshot of the then current gen android running devices vs the iPhone 4. You took a comment out of context and then decided to act as if she said that and droid hardware will NEVER compete with the iPhone. That's not what she said. But it is true that as today, android hardware is inferior to the iPhone hardware. Jackass.
